About the coach
Hi. I'm Ray Zelaya
Founder of Society FC and someone who lives and breathes soccer. I started this club because I believe every player deserves a chance to grow, compete, and fall in love with the game the right way. Whether you’re just starting out or chasing higher-level goals, I’m here to help you level up. Soccer has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve played, coached, trained, and studied this sport with everything I’ve got. Along the way, I’ve seen what works and what doesn’t and I’ve built Society FC to give players the tools, environment, and support they need to succeed on and off the field.
My goal is simple: help you become the best version of yourself through soccer. This isn’t just about running drills or winning games — it’s about building confidence, discipline, and a love for the grind. If you’re ready to train hard, play smart, and be part of something real, welcome to the club.
THE PLAYER-COACH CONTRACT
This isn’t just about soccer. It’s about discipline, attitude, and building young men and girls with strong character. Every player signed their first contract the first of many in their journey as athletes and individuals.
ATTITUDE & PRACTICE PERFORMANCE
- No foul language
- Respect all teammates, coaches, opponents, and referees
- Stay humble, stay coachable
HOMEWORK AGREEMENT [45 MINUTES DAILY]
- 10 mins juggling
- 10 mins toe taps
- 15 mins daily runs
- 10 mins first touch work
03 EVALUATION EVERY 3–4 MONTHS
- We’ll track progress, set new goals, and stay accountable.
04 POSITION CONTRACT
- Each player was given a breakdown of their position on and off the field so they know exactly what’s expected.
FAILURE TO UPHOLD THE CONTRACT
- The player will still suit up but will sit out the game and address the team with an apology. This is about accountability. No shortcuts.
WHY I DO THIS
Every coach on this team leads by example. We hustle. We grind.
And parents invest time and money for their kids to grow. We owe it to them to build not just better players but better people. I know who’s putting in work and who isn’t. And it’s not fair when a few grind hard while others coast. This team is about WE not ME.
We win together. We lose together. We grow together.
I’m not just building athletes—I’m helping build young men and women of character. Soccer is about much more than skills, goals, and wins. It’s about discipline, attitude, accountability, respect, and humility.
I hold parents accountable for supporting their children’s commitments, and I hold players accountable for honoring their word. If you say you’re going to do something, do it. Don’t just talk about it.
This is a life lesson that extends far beyond soccer. Learning to honor commitments will help shape you into a reliable, trustworthy, and successful person as you grow.
Two hours a week with a coach does not make an athlete. Coaching helps, but what you do outside of practice is where real development begins. The players who improve the most are the ones who put in the work when nobody is watching.
Success isn’t given. It’s earned through consistent effort, dedication, and a commitment to getting better every day.
That’s why I do this.
